What is a total?

A total is a bet on the number of points scored in the game by both teams combined, including overtime. Sometimes called an over/under, the bettor puts down a wager on whether or not the total score will be above or below a certain number. Like in the spread betting the odds are -110.

Over 50

The better must wager $110 and the total score across both teams (including overtime) must be over 50 in order to win $100 

Under 50

-110

The better must wager $110 and the total score across both teams (including overtime) must be under 50 in order to win $100 

Tie

Push

Total score across both teams is exactly 50. The bettor's wager is returned with no loss or profit.
